It was Monday, around 11 AM. I talked to my manager the day before about meeting him the next day at the studio to put some finishing touches on the album. After calling him a few times and receiving his voicemail, I started to get a little worried since we still had a lot left to do and were getting close to the release date. Despite not getting a response, I decided to get my things, hop in my car and head to the studio. In my head, I was thinking “Are they serious? How do they not care about all the work we have left?”. As I was getting closer to the neighbourhood where the studio was located, I noticed smoke going up to the sky in the distance. My first thoughts were “What is all that smoke? Are people setting things on fire? Hope everyone is okay.” upon seeing the smoke. When I got to the studio It felt like a knife had been pushed into my heart, as I found out all the smoke that I was seeing was coming from the studio and the whole place was in flames. Shocked, I ran out of my car and went to the firemen outside the building and asked them what was going on and if there were any people left inside. One of them said “We received a call from one of the occupants about a fire, apparently they had a gas leak that they were unaware of and that seems to be the source. Luckily, they managed to get out with some minor injuries before the fire spread and were transported to the hospital to get checked on”. Relieved that the people from my team were okay, I just stood there feeling numb as I watched the Fire Department try to put out the fire with their equipment. The building was burning, and so was my album.
